Sweet 16 Birthday

15th February of 1998.
Was the day I was born. Where I existed on earth.
Based on my perspective, only the people who wish you Happy Birthday are the ones that notice and care about your existence. Everyone totally congratulated me but I'm a bit sad that almost everyone mistaken my Birthday on Valentine's Day *sobs*
But before Valentine's, I got surprise attacks that made me feel like an idiot. I didn't even notice a thing.
I got Birthday Surprised four times this month. They're making me die of happiness. And I'm here to tell you my experience.
1st Surprise Attack:
8th February, I was invited to Yoong Sheng's barbecue party. Even though I don't know him well, he seems pretty cool and nice so I might as well go. I mean YOLO right? I don't get invited to parties often anyways. Samantha accompanied me and I was worried that it'd be awkward. Some more got Samantha, I bet all the attention will be going to her. I put on my blue jersey, flowery shorts, red flats and a red snapback. It looked nice but when I wore it... I wish I changed clothes haha. We arrived and yes it was awkward. While me and Sam were chatting, suddenly Zeph and Yuan Bing brought out a slice of chocolate cake on a plate, singing "Happy Birthday To You". I bet Sam felt awkward. All I did was: "It's not my birthday!" and I clapped along. "Make a wish! Make a wish!" they said and I blew the candle like:
When did you planned this? I asked. Remember the time we asked if you liked chocolate or fruit cake? We weren't asking for what flavour cake you wanted at the party but for you. Even though we met for only one of two months, you guys are already doing sweet things for me. I feel like I've known you guys for a long time, we shared our thoughts, we smell our clothes and say who's smells nicer (hahaha), we also stalk, have fun and talk nonsense in class. You guys really made an impact in my life and i'm grateful xx
2nd Surprise Attack:
14th February, it was Valentine's Day. And I prepared really funny Valentine's Day cards to my friends like this:
I call it the Valentine's Day Project. I'm glad everyone liked it :)
I got two surprises in one day. You guys are spoiling me really.
It was a typical day, studying and doing homework until I heard my friends saying "Hey I think I saw Melissa!" I'm like umm okay then and continued doing my work. Then someone said "Hey Jing Lin! Your brother's outside!". Where where? At the bookstore there. But then I didn't really care. Valiant came and said "Hey Jing Lin! Do you know what day it is?", Umm I don't know? Valentine's?. Suddenly again: "Happy Birthday to you!" sang by Melissa. Thank God the whole class sang together or else that would've been awkward.
At that moment, I swear I was one of the most happiest girls alive. I cry at the slightest things. I almost shed a tear but I couldn't because people were looking so I sucked it back up. She called me to open the presents and looky here. I got what I always wanted. A FLOWER CROWN. My wish came true after three months of obsessing. Some more handmade also. I showed it to Zeph cause I've always told her how much I liked flower crowns. It's now valuable to me. She didn't think it was enough she even wrote a short fairytale love story for me. I'm lucky to have a friend/senior/sister like you. You're the best and i'll love you always xx

3rd Surprise Attack:
It happened after school. As usual, I wait for my gal pals at the gate. I saw Samantha, Karen and Carmen rushing out and they told me: "We need to rush back to Carmen's house and pass up our book. We only have ten minutes! Shyne-Ni will be waiting for you!" I'm like: "Umm okay bye." And there they went. Shyne-Ni came after and told me how they ditched off. She said: "Hey can we use a different road today?". Because of the Melissa surprise, I was in a good mood and agreed to go. She wanted to play on the swings but my emotions were already exhausted thanks to Mels and I said no. A couple was walking in the park so Shyne kinda walked out and showed me her aunt's dog and her tuition teacher's house. She called me to come by her house to check out her volcano. It was so rad. And she kept saying she wanted to come to my house repeatedly. But I took my time cause I was too immersed in watching Dan and Phil reacting to Teens React haha! We were walking back when suddenly Karen and Samantha threw water balloons at me. It wasn't aimed well cause they managed to splash my feet. My reaction was like:
Then I said "Look what you did to my school uniform, clean up the balloons". Carmen then came out of the house running and saying "HAH" and threw a water balloon at me.
My face was just like poker faceee. And they called me to go to my room, and guess what, a room full of balloons!!! I was happily kicking the balloons in the room but they were all downstairs, they didn't see my happiness.

Sorry to disappoint you guys with my emotionless face. My happiness drained out. But I'm really grateful when you told me you planned it for two weeks and even quarrelled over it. And that video message "DAN! DAN IS OVER THERE!" You guys really know me well haha. Couldn't ask for more better friends than you guys:)
They told me about their planning:
Plan A - Surprise wake up at 12am and have a sleepover
Plan B - Go shopping and ignore me all day until they celebrate my birthday
Plan C - Forgotten but it was funny
Plan D - THIS!
They really went through alot. Thank you so much. We even had a small pizza party after chit-chatting! It was just perfect. Except the part where we forgotten to take pictures! Apparently everyone was rushing so we totally forgotten. Ugh what a waste! Here are the wonderful presents they gave me:
I'd be lying if I said I didn't like my presents. I mean who the hell doesn't like presents?
4th Surprise Attack:
It happened today at night. Well I didn't quite care if my family celebrated my birthday cause I'm cool like that. We just came back from eating a Thai dinner and so I said "This is my first time not having a birthday cake on my birthday. Pretty cool.". And suddenly again with the song "Happy Birthday to you!" Mmm it was chocolate cake! We also took pictures :))

You guys make me speechless. Every single one of you had made my 16 Birthday a day to remember. Words can't describe how happy I am and how grateful I am to have such lovely people like you around me. I just really love you. Thank you. I can never stop saying thank you. Thank you.
